Organization Spotlight: Caldwell Area Hospital and Health Foundation

The Caldwell Area Hospital and Health Foundation was organized in 1997 as a 501(c)(3) for the purpose of promoting and maintaining QUALITY healthcare in the Caldwell area. It is volunteer-based and has been instrumental in financing several critical projects for the hospital. It obtains funds and resources through tax-deductible donations, bequeaths, and grants. Current Foundation Board members: Pam Schneider, Pat Moreland, Leo Shiltz, Colin Wood, Cindy Belmear, Brooke Bollman, and Rachel Sproul.

Most recently The Caldwell Area Hospital & Health Foundation received $150,000 in tax credits from the Kansas Department of Commerce to accommodate the addition of modern technology and services at the new Sumner County Hospital District #1, opening in January 2023.

The tax credits will benefit donors to the Next Century Campaign and provide an opportunity to gift in a tax-deferred environment. The total value to the Foundation is more than $214,000. Donors who take advantage of the program may utilize these tax credits from July 1, 2022, through December 31, 2023.

“We are excited to be afforded the opportunity to bring these benefits to Caldwell residents,” said Pam Schneider, foundation chair. “Both the hospital and the community will thrive as the credits drive our local economy and ensure our hospital system continues to provide exemplary quality of care. It is a win for all of us.”

Members of the Campaign Leadership Committee (CLC) will be securing tax credit agreements for the Foundation in support of the larger campaign. The CLC will also be seeking additional donations in support of the Next Century Campaign. To make a gift contact Pam Schneider at (620) 845-2328 or pschndr@kanokalnetworks.com

The Caldwell Area Hospital and Health Foundation is doing incredible work by supporting local healthcare access and improving community well-being through vital programs and services. Their dedication to strengthening rural health mirrors how Digital Substation Designs enhance the reliability and responsiveness of power systems in underserved areas. Both focus on building resilient infrastructure — one for people’s health, the other for energy. Investing in strong foundations leads to lasting, positive impact. It’s inspiring to see organizations like this driving meaningful change where it’s needed most.

Wonderful to see the positive impact Caldwell Area Hospital and Health Foundation is making in the community. Supporting local organizations like this is just as important as taking care of your home with regular gutter cleaning Sydney to prevent long-term damage. Community and maintenance both go a long way. Keep up the great work!
