After a five-year hiatus, the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Medallion Search is making a comeback! The event was once one of the most popular of all the 4th of July activities. Many a “searcher” waited patiently each day for the clue to be released then carefully dissected and deciphered each possible coded meaning before taking off to scour the town in search of the coveted prize. Most agreed that it wasn’t so much the prize awarded as it was the” thrill of the hunt.” It’s the Chamber’s hope that the return of the 4th of July Medallion Search will stir up that same enthusiasm and excitement throughout the community as in years past… and with a prize worth $300 donated by KanOkla Networks, for the lucky winner, you can bet it's going to get folks out searching! The Search, co-sponsored by KanOkla Networks, will begin with an early release of the first clue in the Wednesday, June 28th edition of the Caldwell Messenger. Subsequent clues will be posted daily at 5:00 p.m. to the Chamber’s Facebook page as well as in the window of the Nostalgia Nook. The Medallion Search is open only to those 16 years of age or over. Be sure to obey the following “rules” of the search.
-Must be 16 years or older to participate. -The Medallion will NOT be found on private property; so no searching or trampling on private property or lawns. -No digging or defacing of property allowed. -The Medallion must be turned into the Nostalgia Nook when found. -The prize money will be awarded upon return of the Medallion.
Good Luck and Happy Hunting!
