Together with the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce, the Caldwell Young Professionals are honored to congratulate The Red Barn on their nomination as Caldwell’s March 2019 Business of the Month. We feel it is extremely important to recognize what an asset they are to Caldwell, and are happy to say they were this month’s winner!
The Red Barn’s sponsorship of the new program “Red Barn’s Blue Jay of the Week” as well as countless donations to events and fundraisers in town don’t go unnoticed and we love how dedicated they are to the school, organizations and citizens in Caldwell.
The delicious food, warm welcomes and of course the Elvis memorabilia has been a favorite of their patrons, and their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

This is the letter that greeted Carol Dennis and Jessica Weir as I presented them with their Business of the Month Seal.
The mother daughter duo purchased The Red Barn from Don Weindorf in October 2008. How did they end up in Caldwell KS from Michigan you ask? I think it sounds like it was meant to be. Jessica’s husband Matt happened to drive through town while working around the area, when he spotted a house for rent. Matt asked Jess to put in her 2 week notice and the rest is history. The small family of 3 moved here in October of 2007. Carol and her husband Donald moved here in 2008 to start up what you know as “The Red Barn”. Carol and Jess said they wouldn’t have been able to make it as far as they have without their awesome coworkers and family, sticking by them and making it work. Jess said it’s a “Family owned family ran business and all of these guys are our family whether they like it or not they’re in”.
They have to walk a thin line between keeping things the same and knowing when to add in something fresh. Changing up their lunch specials and evening dinners is how they have introduced extra deliciousness to our daily lives.
One thing that stuck out to me was how much Carol and Jess love their patrons and employees. They feel very fortunate to have been led to Caldwell, Carol said that everyone that comes through their door isn’t just a customer they are a part of their family.
