Spotlight: Caldwell Hospital

The Caldwell Hospital has served thousands of Caldwell residents and surrounding communities since the early 1920s. At the time it was located on south Osage. The hospital then expanded and moved to the old Southwestern Hotel on Mainstreet in 1930, where it remained until the Sumner County Hospital District was established and the hospital relocated to its newly constructed (current facility) in 1965. Today the hospital is constructing a state-of-the-art building just east of Caldwell that is expected to open after the first of the year.

The hospital is the largest employer in Caldwell and one of the largest employers in Sumner County with nearly 80 employees. The hospital provides various inpatient and outpatient services, as well as emergency services. Pulmonary Rehab and Primary Care are the most recent services added. The hospital will soon add Telemedicine, Specialty Services, Cardiac Rehab, and more! The Sumner County Hospital is hosting a "Healthy Heros" Youth Health fair on July 16th beginning at 8:00 AM and ending at 11:00 AM at the Caldwell Community Building. This is the second year hosting this successful event. Services offered during the youth health fair The Caldwell Family Clinic will open under new ownership and will see its first patients on Tuesday, July 5. The clinic is at the same location and will have the same phone number, fax line, and operating hours. The hospital and clinic are pleased to welcome Whitney Newberry, a local nurse practitioner to the team! She has worked in Caldwell and has served the Sumner County area for more than 20 years. Whitney will work alongside Kristine Alvarez, PA, and Dr. Gurneet Matharoo, MD. The Caldwell Hospital also owns the Caldwell EMS Service. Caldwell EMS serves the south half of Sumner County. The department is currently staffed with an 8-man crew and growing!

This spotlight article was engaging and well-structured, offering a clear picture of the hospital’s role in the community. I appreciated how you highlighted both the services and the people behind them—it made the content feel genuine and relatable. While reading, I was reminded of a similar discussion I came across on make a high school diploma, which also touched on how institutions can shape community well-being. Your post does a great job of showcasing that connection in a meaningful way.
