ANNUAL SCENES OF THE SEASON CONTEST
The Labor Day weekend unofficially marks the end of summer and with cooler weather and activities in full swing, our minds begin to turn to the beginning of fall… and what better way to ushered in the fall season with the Chamber of Commerce “SCENES OF THE SEASON” light pole decorating contest? The annual promotion will begin on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, and is open to all businesses, groups, organizations, classes, families, or individuals who would like to help bring a taste of fall to downtown Caldwell. Scenes will be set up next to the light poles along Main Street and can include anything from corn stalks, hay bales, scarecrows, or another fall décor. All entries should be “checked in” at Heritage Park on October 6th from 6:30 PM- 7:30 PM. You will be “assigned” a light pole for displaying your scene at the time. (Businesses will be given first priority to display a scene on poles located in front of their storefronts).
Scenes will remain on display until November 12th, 2021, when we’ll make room for our Christmas Scenes! Scenes should be able to withstand inclement weather and Kansas winds. ONLY twine, rope, or zip ties can be used to attach items to the poles. A weatherproof sign or tag stating the name of the sponsoring entity must be attached to the scene. There is no fee to enter and prizes for the most creative scenes will be awarded!
The Caldwell Chamber of Commerce invites you to help us “MAKE A SCENE”. If you are unable to make the check-in and would like to set up a separate time, or for more information please contact Leah Sommerhoff at City Hall, 620-845-6514.
