The O-K Chisholm Trail Cattle Drovers Association Trail Boss and riders have been busy planning out the details of re-creating a Chisholm Trail Cattle Drive. Starting in Pond Creek, OK on Sept. 12th, the Cattle Drive will head North and come thru Caldwell on Sept. 16th at 10:30 a.m. Step back in time and witness first-hand what life along the trail involved. The cattle will be driven up Main Street to KanOkla Pond.
KanOkla pond will be transformed in to a Cow Camp and provide much needed rest for the cattle and drovers. Visitors are welcome at the Cow Camp from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 16th. A map detailing the Cattle Drive route is available at City Hall.
Don’t forget to buy your chances to win a share of the pot in Cow Pie Bingo! Yes, this is exactly what you think it is! You can win money if the cattle droppings fall on the square or squares you purchase. Flowers Plus has all the details and you can buy a chance to share in the Cow Pie Bingo winnings.
What Cattle Drive in Caldwell would be complete without a Live Street Show? Gun fighters, Border Queen Bella’s, and fantastic actors will be a part of the Main Street Show starting immediately following the Cattle Drive. Seating will be available at Main and 1st Street. Come early to get a good seat!
